Trees & Orchards
The Trees & Orchards initiative aims to expand North Bay's tree canopy while raising public awareness about tree health and the importance of planting more trees.

Greening School Yards Project
Initiated by Clean Green Beautiful North Bay (CGB) and sponsored by North Bay Hydro, the Greening School Yards Project involves planting shade trees at schools to create green spaces for students and staff. This project provides educational opportunities about sustainability and promotes kindness towards plants and people. In 2025, over 20 deciduous trees such as maple and oak, have been donated to schoolyards in order to educate, provide shade, and increase the health of the yards.

Orchards
Since 2019, CGB has planted 14 orchards around the city. These include apple, pear, and plum trees selected specifically for their hardy nature, perfect for our climate. Our hope for this project is that they provide beauty and food security as we continue to grow together. 13 of the 14 orchards have been sponsored by Sustainable Canadore.

Centennial Tree Dedication
To celebrate North Bay's 100th year, Clean, Green, Beautiful, in partnership with the City of North Bay has planted 3 maple trees framing the entrance of North Bay City Hall. This project was made possible by our sponsors Eagle Tree Service, Arborworks Tree Service, and Pearson Tree Service.

"I am a Living Being" Tree Tags
CGB provides tree tags to schools and residents who receive trees through the Trees & Orchards initiative. These tree tags provide information on how to properly care for the trees, and remind students that trees are living beings just like them.
